Welcome to the Psalmix Community

Psalmix is more than just a music streaming platform—it's a community built on shared values. We're committed to creating a safe, respectful, and uplifting environment where music lovers of all ages can discover, share, and enjoy values-aligned content. These Community Guidelines help ensure that Psalmix remains a positive space for everyone.

By using Psalmix, you agree to uphold these guidelines and contribute to a community that celebrates positivity, creativity, and mutual respect.

Our Values

Psalmix is built on four core values that guide everything we do:

1. Quality & Excellence

We believe you shouldn't have to choose between quality and values. Our music delivers mainstream-level production with principled content, proving that values-aligned entertainment can compete with anything in the market.

2. Safety & Respect

Every member of our community—from teens to parents to individual adults—deserves a respectful, harassment-free environment. We have zero tolerance for bullying, hate speech, or behavior that makes others feel unsafe or unwelcome.

3. Positivity & Inspiration

Music has the power to uplift, inspire, and bring joy. We're committed to content that celebrates hope, creativity, and the best in all of us—without sacrificing authenticity or emotional depth.

4. Family & Community

We believe in bringing people together through music. Whether you're a parent seeking peace of mind, a teen looking for quality tunes, or an adult wanting values-aligned entertainment, Psalmix is designed to serve every life stage.

Expected Behavior

To maintain a positive community, we expect all users to:

Be Respectful

  • Treat all community members with kindness and respect
  • Respect different musical tastes and preferences within our values-aligned content
  • Engage in constructive conversations and feedback
  • Recognize that our community spans all ages and maturity levels
  • Honor the values and principles that unite our community

Be Authentic

  • Use your real identity (or appropriate username for minors)
  • Share genuine music recommendations and feedback
  • Create playlists that reflect your authentic tastes
  • Provide honest ratings and reviews

Be Responsible

  • Keep your account credentials secure and don't share them
  • Report content or behavior that violates these guidelines
  • Use parental controls appropriately to protect younger users
  • Respect intellectual property and copyright protections
  • Follow all applicable laws and our Terms of Service

Be Positive

  • Contribute to a supportive, uplifting atmosphere
  • Share music that inspires and encourages
  • Celebrate the creativity and talent of artists on the platform
  • Help new members feel welcome

Prohibited Behavior

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited on Psalmix and will result in enforcement action:

Harassment & Abuse

  • Bullying, threatening, or intimidating other users
  • Hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation
  • Sexual harassment or unwanted advances
  • Stalking or persistent unwanted contact
  • Doxing (sharing someone's private information without consent)

Inappropriate Content

  • Attempting to upload, share, or link to explicit, profane, or sexually suggestive content
  • Violent, graphic, or disturbing imagery or descriptions
  • Content that promotes illegal activities, substance abuse, or self-harm
  • Spam, scams, or phishing attempts
  • Malware, viruses, or other malicious code

Dishonest Behavior

  • Impersonating other users, artists, or Psalmix staff
  • Creating fake accounts or multiple accounts to manipulate ratings/recommendations
  • Misleading playlist titles or descriptions
  • Artificially inflating play counts or engagement metrics

Platform Abuse

  • Attempting to hack, reverse engineer, or circumvent platform security
  • Downloading or redistributing music outside the app
  • Using automated tools or bots
  • Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities (report them to security@psalmix.com instead)
  • Excessive or abusive use of platform features

Playlist Guidelines

Playlists are a core way our community shares music. When creating and sharing playlists:

Do:

  • Create thoughtful, curated playlists around themes, moods, or occasions
  • Use descriptive, accurate titles and descriptions
  • Consider your audience—remember that all ages may discover your playlists
  • Give credit when inspired by someone else's playlist concept
  • Update playlists regularly with fresh content
  • Make playlists that reflect the positive, values-aligned spirit of Psalmix

Don't:

  • Use misleading or clickbait titles
  • Create playlists designed to manipulate algorithms or metrics
  • Copy entire playlists from other users without permission
  • Use playlist descriptions for spam, self-promotion, or unrelated content
  • Create playlists with offensive, inappropriate, or insensitive titles

Parental Responsibility

Parents and guardians play a crucial role in maintaining a safe community for younger users.

For Family Accounts

  • Supervision: Actively supervise your children's use of Psalmix
  • Content Settings: Review and set appropriate maturity level filters for each child
  • Communication: Talk with your children about online safety and appropriate behavior
  • Privacy: Manage privacy settings and visibility for child profiles
  • Monitoring: Periodically review your children's playlists and listening activity
  • Responsibility: You are responsible for all activity on child accounts under your family plan

Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these Community Guidelines, please report it immediately. Your reports help us maintain a safe community for everyone.

How to Report

In-App Reporting:

  • Use the "Report" button on playlists, profiles, or content
  • Select the type of violation from the dropdown menu
  • Provide specific details about the issue
  • Include screenshots if helpful (remove personal information first)

Email Reporting:

For serious violations or if you prefer email, contact community@psalmix.com with:

  • Description of the violation
  • Username or profile of the violator (if applicable)
  • Link to the content or playlist in question
  • Date and time of the incident
  • Any relevant screenshots or evidence

What Happens Next

  • Review: Our trust & safety team reviews all reports within 24-48 hours
  • Investigation: We investigate the reported content or behavior
  • Action: If a violation is confirmed, we take appropriate enforcement action
  • Notification: You'll receive a confirmation that we've reviewed your report
  • Privacy: All reports are confidential; the reported user won't know who reported them

Enforcement Actions

When Community Guidelines are violated, we take action proportional to the severity and frequency of the violation. Our goal is always to educate first, but we will protect our community when necessary.

Warning

For first-time or minor violations:

  • Email notification explaining the violation
  • Link to these Community Guidelines
  • Warning recorded on account
  • No impact on account access

Content Removal

For violations in user-generated content:

  • Removal of violating playlist, comment, or profile content
  • Notification of removal with explanation
  • May be combined with warning or temporary suspension

Temporary Suspension

For repeated violations or moderate offenses:

  • Account access suspended for 7-30 days
  • Email notification with suspension duration and reason
  • Opportunity to acknowledge guidelines before reinstatement
  • Subscription continues (no refund for suspension period)

Permanent Ban

For severe violations or repeated offenses after suspension:

  • Permanent account termination
  • Deletion of all user-generated content
  • No refund of remaining subscription period
  • May include IP address or device ban to prevent new account creation

Appeals Process

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error or you'd like to appeal a decision:

How to Appeal

  1. Submit your appeal within 30 days of the enforcement action to appeals@psalmix.com
  2. Include the following information:
    • Your username and email address
    • Date of the enforcement action
    • Type of action taken (warning, suspension, ban)
    • Explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect
    • Any supporting evidence or context
  3. Review: A different team member (not the original reviewer) will examine your appeal
  4. Decision: You'll receive a response within 5-10 business days

Appeal Outcomes

  • Appeal Granted: Enforcement action reversed, content restored if applicable, no record retained
  • Appeal Partially Granted: Reduced penalty (e.g., suspension shortened or converted to warning)
  • Appeal Denied: Original decision stands, explanation provided

Updates to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines as our platform grows and evolves. When we make significant changes:

  • We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
  • We'll send email notifications to active users
  • We'll post an in-app notification highlighting key changes
  • Major changes will include a grace period before enforcement begins

We encourage you to review these guidelines periodically. Your continued use of Psalmix after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
